Incidence of surgical site infections in clean and clean contaminated surgeries

Background: Health care-associated infections (HAI) continue to be a significant global community health issue and concern patient safety despite progress in infection control strategies. Among the most often reported illnesses acquired hospitals are surgical site (SSI) (HAI). Methods: This prospective observational study was held various Surgical departments of Bakhtawar Amin Trust Teaching Hospital Multan Fauji foundation hospital Peshawar cantt.April, 2022 September, 2022. The comprised total 400 individuals who underwent clean contaminated procedures. Data on comorbidities, post-operative stay, kind surgery, length operation, use prosthesis, day SSI event, demographics, re-suturing were gathered evaluated. Pus aspirate/swab from patients suspected having sent for culture sensitivity testing. Results: covered surgeries. 5 percent cases developed SSI. There correlation between age group, gender also depends procedure type as emergency or elective. stay prolonged post-operatively (>7 days) 14 (70%) 13 (65%) with had co-morbidities. E.
